The additional magic of using this type of stuff, if we have a line of equipment and today I have just one of the neoprene covered or plastic covered kettle bells. I don’t need a lot of weight. In the water this thing can give a little bit of resistance, but you get like a float effect when you’re doing this. What we’re going to do here, again, the magic of what we have in our adjustable ones is that I can actually adjust the Velcro. I’m going to take this. I’m going to lock it around. When I usually do this, I make it a little higher on the bell, lock it in and then I’ll squeeze that bell down in so it’s got a little bit of traction.
Let’s just look at some of your common ones. The kettle bell swing. What we’re doing is … The great thing about this is we got the fins facing up. Dave’s got one as well. We’ll bring it down. Let it swing down between the legs, keeping the back straight. In the water, this helps with our buoyancy, the shoulders are right there. What we want to do is drive with the hips and bring it up to the waters surface. Let it down, no resistance on the way down. Up. Good. Give me five more. Just toss it really hard. Two. Drive the hips, three, drive with the hips. Keep your arms straight. Four. Five. Essentially, I can add weights, okay. This isn’t a heavy one, but I can add weights and I can essentially be doing any kind of cross swing. A lot of things that we can’t do with a kettle bell [inaudible 00:02:11]. These straight arm drives and I’m pulling it back.
If I want the pressure, maximize the pressure on my inside stroke, I have the fins facing in. I just let that body go. If I flip it over in the opposite direction, I’m getting a lot of resistance on back stroke. Very nice, good. If I wanted to make it sport specific, or I wanted to get really the two hand dragging to the torso, I can really drag these. Anywhere I go, the magic of this is … look I’ve got a little bit of buoyancy so this is still pool safe if it drops down. Very visible. Grab my equipment, bring it back up. That’s just one of the additional things that you can do with this. We’ve used it around the edges of neoprene weights and maybe we’ll show you that later on. Just wrap these around the neoprene weight and do your curls in the pool and it just really, really increases the resistance.
