My name is Linda, and I’m local, from Irvine, California, and my background is in dance, and Pilates, and gymnastics, and when I came here I’d had a lot of injuries from the past, neck and upper back from a car accident, and I suffered from plantar fasciitis for about five years really bad, and a lot of knee and hip issues.
Besides being fun, I’m always looking forward to it, it’s helped balance me out. It helped me open up my shoulders. Even though I was doing Pilates, and all that, I didn’t understand that I wasn’t using all the muscle groups, and it’s helped with my knee issues by strengthening my inner thighs, and not relying so much on my outer thighs, and kind of balancing myself, and also just using those fast-twitch muscles.
I have these beautiful elongated muscles, but I couldn’t move fast, and it’s helped me just balance myself out. I have less pain than when I started. I’ve been able to apply the principles of what I’ve learned here into my other exercising. You know, I’m aware of now am I using my inner thighs when I’m hiking or walking, or I can actually move my legs faster going up hills which that means those fast-twitch muscles and stuff are getting better.
I have much more range of motion in my Pilates, and it’s actually helped with my cardio because when you have plantar fasciitis you can’t run, and with Aqua Logix we do these short bursts of exercising for all out for 30 seconds, two minutes, and I’m sure that has helped with my cardio. I can tell when I’m hiking, I’m going up hills, I’m less winded going up hills.
